The campground at Reregulation Dam near Broken Bow, Okla., was only half full when we joined locals Tom and Dianne Jones for a day of kayaking on the crystal-clear waters of the Lower Mountain Fork River. But that’s what off-season camping is all about: smaller crowds and cool weather, with some of the best white water in Oklahoma thrown in for good measure.
